STARS aims to inspire and foster transatlantic research collaborations and help members identify and navigate new professional opportunities in Sweden and North America.
We develop an information hub harboring relocation, funding, and academic advice resources to support STARS members’ professional development.

STARS’ membership is growing! We currently have representatives at 72 North American and 16 Swedish higher education institutions!
Rationale
Sweden has a reputation around the world for its innovations and international collaboration; Sweden is ranked third out of 129 economies in the 2022 Global Innovation Index.
With Sweden’s great international presence, STARS Network wants to connect Swedish researchers, scholars, scientists, and students in North America, as well as North Americans in Sweden, amplifying the impact of each on their new communities and research disciplines.
Eligibility
STARS Network is open to researchers, scholars, scientists, and students in Sweden and North America, with an interest in, or experience of, transatlantic mobility or collaborations.
